Hi again
followong on from my previous question, is it a good idea to go to the Vinh Moc Tunnels and Phong Nha cave by motorbike, staying overnight in Dong Hoi.
I don't want to do the whole DMZ tour.

You can visit Vinh Moc from Dong Ha by motorbike and Phong Nha from Dong Hoi -- in both cases they'll be motorbike dudes happy to take you, or, if you have your own bike, can ride no problems.

I failed to mention I would be starting from Hue and going to Vinh Moc then overnight at Dong Hoi, Phong Nha cave next day then back to Hue,don't know if this makes any difference?

The Vinh Moc Tunnels have not been altered to accomodate large numbers of Tourists as the Cu Chi Tunnels in the south have so are far more authentic.
You can also stay at Phong Nha with the Phong Nha Farmstay. They organise Transfers from Hue and Dong Hoi and also Tours One way to or from Hue visiting the Vinh Moc Tunnels.
