Hi all. In my research on Vietnam travel I've found far too many fake agencies that use the name of established players to get ahead. This has been very irritating and extremely worrying, and I hate worrying when on holiday.
I want to confirm the correct websites for the genuine agencies. I would appreciate it if users here could post up what they believe is the correct website and what the source of their information is if any (for example: Lonely Planet, edition XXX, page XX).
Since posters could be representing fake agencies themselves I would suggest that readers of this thread use either the most repeated website URL or URLs put up by frequent posters in order to determine the most likely correct website.
My contribution is as follows:
Sinh Cafe:
The correct website is:
http://www.thesinhtourist.vn/
My source is: A posting by "SweetRose6" on
http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/thread.jspa?threadID=1841045&tstart=990
As I understand it, all other websites, including www.sinhcafe.com are fakes.
Can someone please tell me the genuine websites for the following:
1. Handspan
2. Ocean Tours
3. ODC Travel
4. The Vietnamese Railway website
I know that the above may seem obvious from simple google searches, but I'm so freaked out I just have to reconfirm all of them.
Cheers!

Shanmatt,as far as I know singcafe tours they open many branches, and www.singcafe.com are not fake, it is one of branch of the singtourist. So you do not need to freak out from goodle search about websites such as Handspan, Ocean Tours, ODC Travel, The Vietnamese Railway.
Cheers,

Hi Shamatt,
Just to confirm, you are correct about SinhCafe - they are now called The Sinh Tourist, as a result of a rebranding exercise. (In fact, I had been meaning to post this info to clarify this for others).
Their old website now redirects http://www.thesinhtourist.vn/ as you stated.
I'm unable to help you with the other websites - but I also wanted to confirm the genuine Easy Rider's website: http://dalat-easyrider.com.vn/Websites/English/
The real Easy Rider guys wear blue and black jackets with their logo and website on the back of the jacket. The logo is shown in the top left corner of the website I refer to. (BTW - taking an Easy Rider tour was by far the best thing I could have done during my time in Vietnam. Our 4-day tour was extended to 8 days to incorporate the Mekong Delta. I plan to make a separate post about this when I get a chance!)

The genuine website:
- Handspan: http://www.handspan.com
- ODC Travel: http://www.odctravel.com.vn
- Ocean Tour: http://www.oceantours.com.vn
- Vietnam Railway: http://www.vr.com.vn
They are reliable tour operator and surely you can rely on their travel services.
