Hello all-
My girlfriend and myself will be traveling SE Asia (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand) for 2 months and 10 days. We are working on our Vietnam travel plans right now. We are both slower pace kind of people but still want to see a lot. We have each done our fair share of travel, but this will be something very new as it will just be the two of us. :)
We would like to relax more than feel rushed this is our tentitative plans thus far.
June 2nd -Land in HCMC/Saigon (flights from LAX to HCMC were too cheap to pass up.)
June 5th- Leave HCMC to fly to Hanoi
June 5th- Train/boat(if we ca find a boat) to Halong Bay
June 5th-10th Halong Bay
June 10th- Train back to Hanoi
June 10th-15th Hanoi
June 15th-fly from Hanoi to Vientiane
Comments are appreciated! What do you all think? We will hammer out the more fine details of what we will see later but we need to get a rough idea of where and when we need to buy plane tickets/visas for ect..

Hi,
Looks fine to me. For the Ha Long Bay leg, you'll see that most people do it on an organised tour out of Hanoi though you can also get to Halong city independently (bus is the fastest means) and then sort it out from there (though you'll still end up on a tour boat).
Look into Jetstar for your domestic flight needs in Vietnam.
