Located in:
Arrived yesterday by Mai Lionh Express from HCMC 56k VND very good service. However! Floating barge restaurant has floated off reducing the already limited eating options, seems to be little activity in terms of boat trips on river, our Hotel, Hung Vuong, offers a 4 hr trip but no evidence of boats for hire near mkt. Also the Bird Sanctuary @ Vam Ho apparently closed 2 months ago after a flood (the birds don't roost there anymore we were told - or they've all been eaten lol). So there is now precious little to do in this sleepy mekong backwater - seems the new bridge may have taken away more than it gave? On the Hotel front we have a suite in Hung Vuong for 560k VND including breakfast and a massage tub (in the room). Also A/C no less than 2 TVs for probably the best midrange deal in SE Asia!
