Flying into HCMC late at night

  • Caripito

    Hello HCMC travelers,

I will be flying into Saigon late at night in November of 2009. I would like a reasonalby priced hotel for the first night.
    U$10.00 to U$20.00
What should I pay for taxi to the hotel?

    Regards, Caripito

    ** options

In the first instance, whatever you book, make sure they'll accept you at a late hour.

Second, as for a taxi fare, when you email any accommodation provider, ask then what they'd suggest as a fair price.

Being a late arrival, try your first night near to the airport, go look at the TF link here .

Travelfish has a list of accommodation providers here .

    Cheers

    How late?

Fare would depend on where you're going in town, but to Pham Ngu Lao area (the backpacker zone), where you'll find lots of hotels in the price bracket you mention, you'd be looking at around the US$5 mark -- less if you get a moto (xe-om).

In case you want comparison the recommended taxi fare for me from Airport to Pham Ngu Lao St. on a Mai Lihn is $8.
