Hi!
travelfish says Australians can obtain a visa for China in Lao Cai, Vietnam before crossing in to Hekou. Has anyone recently done this? If so was it same day processing and how much did it cost?
Otherwise I will need to get my China Visa whilst in Hanoi (where I currently am) but this seems to take minimum of 4 day, or risk backtracking if I cant get visa in Lao Cai.
any help would be really appreciated.

When I was in Lao Cai I checked it out, there are no visas on arrival for anyone, even Australians. I was told by several people I asked that Hanoi travel agents is the only option.
