Vietnam Visa required for less than 12 hours?

  • dano_b

    Hi!

For various reasons when I was in Vietnam I didn't get all my shopping done that I wanted. I was hoping to pop back quickly to HCMC before I head home to get some Christmas shopping done at the market.

Does anyone know if I still require a visa if I am only in the country for 12 hours? I know that in China you do not need a visa for a short layover....wondering if the same theory applies in Vietnam?

    Thanks!

Yes you will need a visa, there is no such concession in Vietnam, unless you either1) hold a Scandinavian passport or 2)come to Ha Tien from Cambodia, when you don't need a visa for a stay of up to 15 days
