Hey everyone!

I was wondering if anyone had done the Lao/Cambodia crossing at Voen Kham recently. I've been reading that a boat trip down to Stung Treng costs around $50 USD. True? Also, can a Cambodia visa still be obtained at the border here, and if so for how much?

Thanks much

Yes Cambodian visa on arrival is available there for US$20 -- there is an "overtime" charge of $1.50 after 16:30 and on weekends.

The boat trip remains a bit of a scam -- you're best to either cross with a bunch of other backpackers to increase your bargaining ability or just take the bus.
