Hi,

Does anyone know the best crossing form Saigon area to Cambodia? We would preferably like to do it via a trip up the Mekong.
Thanks in advance

You will get countless offers in Saigon of 2D, 1N guided tours through the Mekong all the way to PP. We did one of these because of ease and time issues. They are not bad, however a little touristy.
If you DIY and enter at the very south (cant think of name of town) and go to Kep/Kampot in Cambodia, I hear this may be better.

Do you know if you can get a visa on arrival as this crossing does not support e-visa?
Thanks

If you want to go to Cambodia from Vietnam on a boat on the Mekong, you take a boat from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh.I can't remember the actual name of the crossing point on the river, but it's a painless process, the visa for Cambodia is issued on the spot for 20USD (they might try and ask for a bit more) If you want to do it overland from Vietnam, the name of the town that "chinarocks" can't remember is Ha Tien (I can remember it because I live here!) The crossing here is also easy and the visa for Cambodia obtainable at the border for the standard 20USD.From the border you can go to Phnom Penh,Kep,Kampot or Sihanoukville on direct buses
