Hi
Im trying to find out if the Vietnamese embassy will issue a tourist visa on a postdated passport. My wife(to be) is getting a new passport in her married name, our entire trip, flights hotels etc are booked in our married name. However the passport only becomes valid on the day we get married and we fly out the day after!..Not one of the embassys seems to be able to help and the consular services never reply!
Has anyone had experience in doing this and getting a visa on a postdate passport?

Bring the old and new passport together during the custom clearance. Shouldn't be any issues.

Ok got a reply from the consular at last, so for anyone one needs the information here is there reply....looks like were in a sticky situation!
Hi,
Unfortunately, we can not issue visa on the post dated passport. You can applyfast track Next day or 2 working day service for visa to Viet Nam.

How long are you going to be in Vietnam for, and are you flying in? If under 30 days and you're flying, can you just apply online for the visa pre-approval letter, then get the actual visa when you land?
Check out http://www.myvietnamvisa.com/ for pre-approval letter. Maybe you can submit details of the new passport for the purposes of the pre-approval?
