I dont know if this stands for other nationalities. but if you are flying from the UK you need to obtain your visa before leaving the uk.. It cant be purchased on the boarder.
Re #2-that is completely incorrect-of course you do not need to purchase your visa before leaving the UK.You can do so if you wish, but it would be much simpler and cheaper to get your Vietnam visa in either Thailand or Laos, when you are over here.It is true that you cannot get a visa at the Vietnamese border, and the link you posted is only applicable if you arrive at an International airport in Vietnam.

any ideas what the process time will be? it says on the website that in Bangkok its 5-7 working days, is there any fast track options when you turn up? if not Laos might be the better option.
We are in Bangkok now, but weren't planning staying that long.

Hi, I'm looking for some information regarding Visa's for Vietnam, coming in from Laos
Where is the best place for these and how long do they take to process.
We fly on Thursday to Bangkok and will have a few weeks before we enter Vietnam, by land.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
