Hi,
I'm just finalising my route through south east asia from Nov-Jan, and i've realised that i will be most likely trying to cross the Laos - Thailand border crossing at Vientiane on new years day...
I'm assuming this will be problematic! Does anyone know if it is possible to cross that day or not?
After crossing the border to Nong Khai, I am then planning on taking a train to Khorat.
The Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge is open every day 365 days/year. New Years Day (Jan-1) is not a special day for Laos and Thailand (their New Year is in April). The border crossing will be business as usual. Same for trains and buses throughout the region.
