Hi, I would like to hear from anyone who has used the Vietnam visa approval letter successfully on entry to Vietnam. I am just a bit unsure and I don't want to arrive and be told it is not valid!
I am an Australian citizen.
Thanks

I've used it a couple of times at Hanoi airport and all fine - I'm British but don't imagine your situation will be any different. There are quite a few threads on here about VOA and I've only ever read of positive experiences.

For my first trip to Vietnam, I went to the Canberra embassy, where it cost me $75 for a 30 day visa.
Next trip, I used the internet approval letter, through HaNoi, worked perfectly. And, only $20 for the agency, and $25 for the visa - for three months. Most posts state you need US dollars, but I used Aussie. Told them it was worth more than that Yank stuff. She laughed, and sent me happily on my way.
Go for it.

After approval, they will email an approval letter to you, containing all the names of those they have applied for on the particular day.
Print it out, and highlight your name to make it easier on arrival in HaNoi.

Also download the Form on Arrival to save a few minutes at the visa counter.

I did this style visa a couple of weeks ago -- there were Americans doing the same and didn't appear to have any problem.
