I will be in Thailand/Malaysia for 34 days altogether...am I right in believing you get 30days free any time after this u have to have a travel visa?! If so how do I go about this for those extra 4days?
When you exit Thailand for Malaysia your 30 day visa exemption is no longer valid, hence if you return to Thailand by air, you will get another 30 days.

I fly into Bangkok and out from Singapore, how do the visas work as I cross into Malaysia? I wnt b crossing bk into Thailand as we fly to Australia, I've been told to contact the British embassy and apply thru them and will cost approx £60?!
Your British? You don't have anything to worry about. You'll get 30 days in Thailand when you arrive at the airport and when you cross into Malaysia by land/air/sea you'll get 90 days. I think Singapore is 30 days.

Yes I'm British, I will probably b in Thailand for 28days and Malaysia for 6days, I tried t explain this to the people on the phone but they seemed to rush me n just said they'd send me an application form out and it would cost £59.60 each

I think you mean the Thai embassy. Anyway you don't really need a visa as you're in Thailand less than 30 days. Malaysia free 90 days Singapore free 30 days.

Yes sorry that's what I meant...I contacted 'the travel visa company' and they have sent me an application form that states a have to send them... My passport, passport photographs and £69.50 along with the application n some other documents! I think I'll ring them back because they didn't understand what I were saying

Hi,
I have almost the same problem. I'm Pole, but we have the same entry conditions to Thailand like UK.
I'll arrive at 5th January in Bangkok - I should get 30day stamp in my passport. Then 7-10 of January I planned visit Cambodia (Angkor WAT), and there is the question. When I leave Thailand will I lost that 30 day free period? I found, that land border crossings give me only 15 day entry. I have return tickets to Poland at 28th January, so from 10th i need 18 day allowance. How to solve that problem? Probably I'll have occasion to pass the Thai/Laos border about 15th, doest it renew my 15day period?

^Yes when you leave Thailand you will lose the 30-day entry and only get 15 days if you re-enter Thailand by land. Solutions:
1. Leave the trip to Cambodia until later so you use more of the 30 days and don't need more than 15 days the 2nd entry.
2. Fly back into Thailand to receive another 30 days.
3. Do a border hop to get another 15 days.
4. Get 15 days then go to Immigration and extend it 7 more days for 1900 baht.
