Rough Guide suggests this is in the works but it's not mentioned in articles on the recent added crossings.

Is this possible? If so, how can itbe organized?

Hi tazza,

that crossing has long been in the works, but to my knowledge is still only open to Thai and Lao passport holders. That said, that part of Nan province is stunning!

Possibly not. Fhu Travel is willing to organize the Thai portion of the route (and seem to think it possible) if I can figure out the Lao part. Is there anyone in Luang Prabang who has a good reputation for setting up this kind of bespoke displacement?

P.S. Appreciate your quick feedback and will keep you posted.

still closed...& recently some Thai soldiers were arrested for crossing over into Lao territory somewhere along that stretch of the border (i think), so things might be a little sensitive right now?
