You'll need to either go to the embassy in Bangkok yourself or arrange to have your passport sent to Bangkok to get the visa. Perhaps a travel agent in Samui may be able to help in this regard, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Out of curiosity, how are you planning on getting from Samui to Vietnam without going through Bangkok?

Hi there. Am just wondering if it is possible to get a visa for Vietnam while staying in Ko Samui for a few days, as I want to bypass Bangkok.
