Does anyone have any information on getting Visa for Vietnam, either from the UK / Internet (online).

We have 10 days prior to departing the UK to bangkok and therafter to Vietnam and we don't want to post our passports to the UK Vietnam Embassy...any advice will be much appreciated.

Are there any other UK offices for Vietnam Visa other than London?

Thanks in Advance

http://www.visa-vietnam.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=35&Itemid=39

Is this a legitimate website?

Please advise on the above

Thanks in Advance

Have you considered getting the visa while in Bangkok? It's a straightforward process there.

Have not heard of the online mob you mention in your second post.

We only have a few days in Bangkok hence the advance e-visa application.

How easy is this process in bangkok and how long will this take ti get as we don't want to be waiting around in queues?

Are there any other alternatives?

Details from the horses mouth at the Vietnamese Embassy, Bangkok

If you don't want to stand in a queue (chances are the queue will be longer to get on the plane from the UK) you'll be able to get a travel agent to do it for you for a surcharge.

Thanks for the advice. I have just been to a number of travel agents and their policy has now been changed for getting visas from them. You can only get a visa if you book a package holiday through them.

Any advice on what times to get to the Vietnam Embassy in London, UK - hence earlier than the times specified to beat queues?

I got my visa from the London embassy last year by post. It takes 5 working days to process your visa - if done by post you will have your passport back on the 6th working day. An express two day service is available but costs more.

The Visa Section opens between 9.30am and 12.30pm, Mon-Fri, except public holidays for the dropping off and picking up of passports/visas. There is no need to book an appointment. Embassy of Vietnam, 12-14 Victoria Road, London W8 5RD Tel: 020 7937 1912.

The cost of the 5 day service is £38 if dropping off and picking up your passport at the embassy or £43 if you need to have it returned by post - a S.A.E. must be included if using the post option. I don't have the prices for the express service.

The application form for the visa is located at http://www.vietnamembassy.org.uk/m1.PDF

Hope this helps.

Oh, you may only be able to get a visa from a UK travel agency if you are booking a holiday through them, but in Bangkok any travel agency will sort out a visa for you. Drop your passport off with them and depending upon the service you go for, pick it up a 1-4 days later! Basically they will take your passport to the office for you and then pick it up when it is ready. There is usually a small fee for this service. Cheers. Mark.
