I go back to Cambodia next month and usually get a business visa at Poipet or Pailin. This time I would like to go via Koh Khong but have heard of the huge rip offs by immigration when issuing business or tourist visa.As I have to travel on almost immediately to Vietnam I am going to get my business visa on return.
I fancy going through Koh Khong with a tourist e-visa but I distrust immigration there so much I am nervous of turning up with an e-visa. I can honestly see that bunch of scammers telling me some cock and bull story e.g. computers down, in order to extort money for another visa. Has anybody any anecdotes relating to crossing with e-visa. Do these guys accept it gracefully that they aren't going to get a pay off this time?

All the problems regarding this crossing appear to centre around people who decide to get a visa on the border -- if you're arriving with either a visa or an evisa, I wouldn't expect too many dramas.
