Hi

I'm planning a trip from Chiang Mai in Thailand to Yunnan in China.

I understand there is a passenger boat from Chiang Sean in Thailand to Jinghong in China.

Has anyone any details on this trip:

* ie times, prices, etc.,

* the border crossing requirements (eg. visa on arrival to China for an Australian, or is it necessary to pre-order), and

* what 'problems' might need to be addressed along the way.

Cheers (in advance)

Easy The boat only goes when the Mekong is high.

The boat is a Speedboat. It is based in China. They were threatening to cancel the boat due to low water levels, so check if still operating.

Lunch is provided.
I forgot cost.
It takes all day.
No problems. It is a no brainer.

Thanks

I was hoping someone might know the place to contact in Thailand (ie Chiang Sean, I think) with whom I could discuss.

And, also any immigration 'issues' when entering China.

Any ideas?

Cheers
