Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone had used the Na Maew-Nam Xoi border crossing. I hope to be travelling through there on December 30th. I've heard that travelling from Luang Prabang to the Border at Na Maew is very uncomfortable.
If anyone has travelled this route and if you could tell me how long it took to get from Louang Prabang to the border and from the border crossing to Hanoi (I want to be in Hanoi for Dec 31st), and if it's comfortable or would I be better off flying or using a different border crossing.
Thanks alot,
Noreen

Hi Noreen, this is a recent feedback from a vietnamese doing research in the area. I think the ride should be reasonably smooth.
"About 4 or 5 hours by bus.
Lets see, about 300 km total to Hanoi, follow route to CanhNang, CamThuy, then on HCM hw to xuanmai, or you can break 1 night at Cucphuong park. All paved up road. I plan to cycle there my self next time when I have some free day.
Laos, I never been there . I was check route 7 to laksao, it's good. But we have to see this road from Nameo, there were some couple doing bike before, they told me route for bike is ok."

Thank you very much, I was afraid it was going to be too rough. You've put my mind at ease.
Thanks again,
Noreen
