Ben best way? Where do you want to go in Laos, and what do you want to experience along the way? Assuming you are in Chiang Mai (or planning to be), and you want to merely get to Huay Xai in Laos, you can either take the slow road, go to: http://www.travelfish.org/feature/119 Or take the fast route: http://www.travelfish.org/board/post/thailand/6092_advice---chiang-mai-to-chiang-khong- - - - - - Udon Thani is miles from Laos, but has an airport, but you'll need to backtrack to BKK. cheers
