Border cross f/Msian @ HCMC-PP & Btmbng-BKK

    Hi,

    I will be taking a bus from HCMC to Phnom Penh and then later from Battambang to Bangkok. I hold a Malaysian passport. As far as I know (for 30 days stay or less) I don't need a visa, however I'd like to be sure since I've been reading so much about paying for visas at the borders.

    And how could I avoid the I-get-visa-for-you-quicker scam at the border, or perhaps I'm just paranoid?

    Lastly, does it make sense to take a boat to the Thai border from Battambang and then switch to a bus or minivan once I cross?
