17th May, 2014
There will an upcoming mission to help the Penans, aboriginal people in the Sarawak jungles. These peoples lives are being affected by logging of the rain forest.
This will be the first of bi-annual missions to bring aidto them. According to missionaries working in the area the Penans are malnourished, have some sickness and skin diseases that needs medical help. There are also issues about hygiene practices.
The mission is planned for early July 2014. The entire cost will be under 750SGD per person (mostly for diesel) and last 7 days.
