Andaman Coast - now!

Posted by noflyzone on 11/7/2010 at 20:03

Hi, We've just qualified as SCUBA divers from Mermaids (excellent) in Pattaya and are heading down towards Malaysia. We plan to dive the Perhentians in Malay, therefore we'd quite like to dive the other side of the peninsula. However, it seems like the Similan/Surins etc are all off limits at this time. Is there anywhere good for newly-qualified divers to go on the West coaast of the peninsula in July/August? Nothing too technical or 30m deep, just some slightly different scenery/life maybe ...

(PS - I'm an Advanced PADI diver (logged 50 dives), currently retraining with BSAC and doing UK diving over the summer, confident underwater, experience of handling strong currents and wreck diving. Looking for stunning reefs, wrecks, a few of the 'big things') ...

dive master internship - Thailand

Posted by gillian1989 on 12/12/2009 at 21:03

I'm planning on doing my Dive Masters certification in Thailand in February. I have lots of time to complete the certification and am liking the idea of prolonging the internship because the lifestyle sounds like something i could get used to. I've looked into a few different companies on different islands: koh tao, koh samui, koh phi phi and in the similan islands. some internships last 2 months, others 5 or 6 and the prices seem to vary. seems like some places have you more as a student for th ...

Learning to dive Koh Tao
