4 wks in SEA--Outdoor Adventure Suggestions

Posted by opples on 25/11/2011 at 18:52

I will be traveling for the entire month of April. I have been researching and am starting to feel overwhelmed. Everything seems worthy of a visit! However I would like to stick to the your sage advice and not spend my vacation en route. With that said I am looking for suggestions for MUST visit places in Southeast Asia. I have never been. I am interested in outdoor adventure (hiking, scenic places, amazing caves, etc), beaches (snorkeling!) and of course some culture (temples, street food ...

Suggestions for an 8 month trip.

Posted by wanderlust1990 on 24/11/2011 at 14:22

Picture the scene if you will. A girl and her friend, dying of uni-work related stresses, decide to procrastinate from the essays at hand and start discussing their 8 month backpacking trip around Asia to begin at the moment of graduation. Where do you think we should go? Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos are musts. How much time in each place? And where else is a must do? We are both quite experienced travelers and not looking for anything to 'moon-party-esque'. Thanks for any advice and ...

I was initially thinking of doing a tour from Bangkok to hanoi and then flying to HK, but then I found out that direct flights between HAN and HK are really expensive! So now I ...

Hello, We will be travelling in January 2012. We plan to spend 1 week in each location. We have to pick one main airport city to be our travel hub - either Bangkok Thailand or Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. For this spot we're looking for somewhere to do some shopping, see culutural sites, and somewhere that is easy to get around. Which is the best one to visit if you can only see one? Our next stop will be the beaches in Krabi , Thailand. I need some help selecting our final location; Bali Indoneis ...

Where to be for the holidays?

Posted by tj2002 on 18/10/2011 at 19:50

Im setting off on my solo tour of Thailand, laos, vietnam and cambodia on the 5th December and will be away for Christams, NYE and my birthday. Now I don't normally give a crap about the holidays (apart from my birthday) but want to try and be somewhere lively for them. I'm probably going to be crossing into Laos in the 2nd week of my trip so will probably be there for Christmas. If I set off to Vietnam around boxing day time where would be a good place to be situated for NYE? Looking to be so ...

Flying with Air Asia

Posted by PeterJW on 13/10/2011 at 23:42

Hi all. In the next day or too I'm booking a plane ticket to Bangkok and the cheapest seems to be with Air Asia £230 for flight, tax, carbon offset and fuel surcharge. However, with baggage (26kg) and meals (2 of which cost £25!) and choosing a seat (£9) it is £300. Can I take my own food and drinks on the plane and not pay for the meals? If not are the meals any good? Also has anyone been able to take hand luggage and if so how much in weight? any info will be really appreciated. ...

could be pregnant while in Hanoi and bali

Posted by lindistar on 13/10/2011 at 20:00

Hi, We have a trip planned for Janunary next year, just a month to see some relatives in Singapore, spend a few days in Hanoi and 2 weeks in Bali. This is all planned already and now I suspect I may be pregnant! If i am right, I would be 3-4 months while we are away. It's probably a silly question, but as long as the woman has a healthy pregnancy it should be safe, right? We will be taking quite a few flights, but the longest will only be about 7 and a half hours as it's broken up with an over ...

2 weeks in Thailand, Malaysia and Cambodia?

My boyfriend and I just booked tickets in and out of Bangkok for two weeks in late August. We are thinking of starting in Bangkok, then somehow seeing KL, Terengganu n Malaysia (my boyfriend lived there for a year) then going to Angkor Wat, and ending the trip with a few days on a beach around Cambodia/Thailand before heading back. Does anyone have recommendations on whether this is a good itinerary for the time of year, e.g. will we get hit by monsoons, is it easy to get around, are there any ...

Hi I'm planning to fly to Bangkok around 14th Jan 2012 from the UK. I’ll have a 30 day visa so think I’ll head south to Bang Lamung and Sattahip for a week at the most to experience some beach time before heading north for another 3 weeks getting to and around Chiang Mai and then heading into Laos for around 14th Feb. I think a 30 day Laos visa is $30? I then want to spend the next 30 days in Laos and then heading to Vietnam(crossing from the north end) around 13 – 14th March. The pr ...
