Cycling through Southern China

Posted by Seby_C on 17/5/2011 at 00:45

Dear all, I propose to cycle from Phnom Penh in Cambodia to either Manning or, maybe further (perhaps Guangzhou), in southern China. I am fairly confident that the Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam legs can be achieved (I have travelled Southeast Asia extensively and lived in Cambodia for the last 2 years), however I have never visited Southern China and am aware that the culture will vary quite dramatically as will the terrain, climate and of course many more factors. I want to ask if anyone has an ...

know anything about malaysia?

Posted by alisonmilliken on 6/9/2007 at 14:48

Hey, I know technically malaysia is not really included in Indochina or anywhere in the site I can find... But our plan is to head to Thailand (esp. South Khao Lak) in July next year. We will have about 3 weeks and want to go to places we haven;t been before. (We lived in Thailand 3 years so have been to quite a few places...) I was thinking an entirely new country might do the trick, does anyone know anything about cool places to see in Malaysia? maybe not KL, but other intereting stuff... ...

forget about china? (laos,cambodia,vietnam trip)

Hey everyone, I have been planning a trip to SE Asia for awhile, although i've been unable to do as much research as i'd have liked by now due to various other events in my life, anyway...to the point! I had originally planned to go to china for 1 month then split laos/cambodia/vietnam into 2 months but am very wary about spending too much time travelling. Seeing a little of a lot rather than a lot of a little! It seems that seeing china first will mean more time travelling - getting fr ...

Posted by JarrodPace on 2/5/2011 at 16:06

Hi all I am planning to spend a month in Cambodia followed by a month in Laos later this year (Oct/Nov). Bangkok is where I will fly into and out of the region. I have never travelled before, let alone to the region, so I was wondering if anyone experienced would be able to suggest a good route to take for this trip and which places are good to spend a little time in and ...

We want to start at the top and work our way down and that's about as far as we have got! What would be worth going to see whilst over there? Places to stay, visit, experience etc! Is it hard to get visas over there, or do you apply for them in advance? How expensive or cheap ...

Hi myself and a friend are travelling around South East Asia from 10th Aug - 10th Sept. We have a plan of where we want to go, and we were going to organise it all when we got there except for a few internal flights that we need at the end. We were going to try and be flexible with our dates but obviously if we book the flights we need to be at those places by a certain time. This is our plan: 2 night in Bangkok Bus to Kanchanaburi for 1 night Sleeper train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai 5 nights ...
