Bali 17 day itinerary - October/November

Posted by ChristD on 11/5/2014 at 16:33

Hey guys, I'm headed out to Bali at the end of October for 17 days and leaving early November. I was hoping for some input on an itinerary for my time there. I really want to get involved in as many activities as possible (surfing, diving, anything else which you can suggest) while I'm there, as well as seeing all the best sights and the culture. I also want to go across to Lombok at some point then off to the Gili islands. This is going to be my first time travelling and this will be my fi ...

East Kalimantan, much to see?

Posted by jessica_chant on 4/6/2014 at 07:13

Me and a friend are crossing from Borneo into East Kalimantan in a day or two, visas allowing, and are hoping to travel south to Balikpapan and take a flight to Surabaya in Java in a few week or so. Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations of where to go and what to do, or any other ideas about where we can fly to Java from. Ideally we'd like to go to the Surabaya side of Java but would be happy to go to Jakarta if it saved us money and/ or a flight change. Any help is much apprecia ...

Posted by Shoshana on 25/4/2014 at 11:15

Hi all, I am spending three weeks in Indonesia in July. I have a return flight to Jakarta . I'm a solo female backpacker. I'd definitely like to visit the following: Yogy, Boro, Prambanan, Bromo, Dieng Plateu, Kawah Ijen. I'd also like to do a few days of scuba diving. I think the Gilis Islands are my best bet? Given that, can I work the following into my schedule: Bandung, Garut, Pangandaran, one of the national parks on Java? Or would it be a better use of my time to explore Bali a bit mo ...

Hey there Travel Fish community, Long time troller, first time poster here. I'm all about planning trips on my own, but my Indonesia trip is stressing me out and I thought I'd open it up to discussion and take some input. Let me explain a little... My girlfriend and I are in the midst of an 8-month backpacking trip around SE Asia. This is not our first time in the region, but it's our first extended backpacking trip. We're both 28, like to travel independently, and are on a mid-range budget. O ...

Welcoming your Gili dive recommendations!

Posted by cbg0927 on 20/5/2014 at 04:54

Hello all! I'd like to get my open water this coming July in Indonesia. As of now I'm tentatively planning on getting it on Gili Trawangan as it's inexpensive (US ~350). Can anyone recommend a dive school? Also - I'm not set on Gili T. If anyone has had a particularly great experience getting their certification anywhere in Indo, I'd be very interested in hearing about it. Cheers! ...

Three weeks in Indonesia

Posted by marianaamc on 25/4/2014 at 17:58

Hi everyone. I'll be going to southeast asia for around four weeks with my boyfriend. After that I'll join my parents for three weeks in indonesia (Aug+Sept). They're not experient travellers but they tend to like trekking and outdoors more than beachs. This will be mostly for them, a trip of a life time. I've been planning my own trip with my boyfriend for more than a year and I know the region (thailand, vietnam, cambodia, burma...) very well already but since I didn't ever consider Indonesia ...

Otherwise, I'm thinking of going to Flores, but any suggestion about where to go is welcome. Thanks! ...

Considering which city (or an island) to visit..

Posted by luvy55 on 28/4/2014 at 21:06

Good day, I am a British-American traveler in mid-20's who loves to visit different Asian countries and customs. I've been to Korea, Japan, and the Philippines several times already, and saw so many beautiful traditions and places, not to mention great people. But when I stayed in the Philippines for an unusually long period, about a year, I realized that there are several actions or information I should be aware so that I might not get disadvantages while I live my life there. Therefore, I want ...
