Posted by GermanCoastgirl on 19/4/2011 at 20:17

Hi All, I have already posted in the Cambodia forum and would like your input on the following route planning: I will be travelling SEA for 6 weeks in Feb/March 2012. First three weeks with my son, last 3 weeks my husband will join. I have now taken some weeks (besides working/family life) to think of further planning and would like you to give me your feedback on the following planned route (I know, I still have sooo much tíme left but planning is also soooo much fun !) 3 weeks alone with my ...

1month-6weeks.thailand and loas or thailand/cambodia?

Posted by leavingsoon on 29/3/2011 at 14:58

Fellow Travelers Please Advise. Im headed to thailand in a couple weeks and not sure where to spend my time. I don't want to do too much in too little time but would rather take my time (enjoying islands and magical places) along the way. Where are some of the best places you've been in thailand, laos, cambodia? and if you had to choose either laos or cambodia which would you choose? Also, mixed reviews of Phuket? I like to party, but not everyday and don't like real real touristy places. ...

Travel in Laos over new year

Posted by Daphne on 10/4/2011 at 11:32

Hi I'm planning on making the journey from Bangkok to Vientiane next week on the 14th, then onwards to Pakse and Si Phan Don. Assuming that there are no problems with the overnight train from Bangkok, do you think Laos new year will mean much disruption to travel for the rest of our journey? Will the roads down to Pakse be much busier and less safe? Thanks in advance ...

Itinerary advice: Phonsavan - Nam Neun - Nong Khiaw

Posted by Binibabe on 9/4/2011 at 18:09

Hello everybody! My husband and I will be going to Laos in November. I went for the first time last year (on a "business" trip working for an NGO) and absolutely fell in love with the country. Now I need to show it to my husband as well. I've tried to come up with a route including Vientiane, Phonsavan and Luang Prabang and avoid taking the same road twice but rather going in a circle. My plan for now is to start in Vientiane, go by bus to Phonsavan, continue by bus (or songthae ...

which boat on which river in which direction?

Posted by ccalvin09 on 25/3/2011 at 06:42

Two days in Vientiane Three days in Luang Prabang Five day round trip from LP to ?? via ?? river at mellow pace in January In a perfect world, I would do something along the lines of: Depart LP via slow boat in the morning on Day 1 and travel for 3-5 hours before stopping for the afternoon/night in a beautiful, mellow location. Middle of nowhere OK if you have a suggestion for a place to sleep and hire a local guide. Day 2: Go hiking/walking/biking/whatever to see something cool and maybe ca ...

SE Asia in 5 weeks

Hi, I am planning a 5 week trip covering Laos, Cambodia and a very small portion of Thailand. Starting in Chiang Mai cross the border to Huay Xai, Pakbeng, Luang Prabang, Vang Viang, Siam Reip and Phenom Pen. I would also like to get to the coast in Cambodia but not sure where to head. I want to have enough time to not feel rushed and take it at my own pace. I would prefer to do the trip over land rather than fly as I want to take in as much as possible, although I understand time may be a re ...
