Any tips for Caramoan?

Posted by goonistik on 16/4/2013 at 22:31

Does anybody have any tips for Caramoan? I made a mistake and booked on Cebu Pac. I found out later that he PAL Express flight would have been better as it has an earlier schedule. So my flight arrives at 10:25 AM. Making it to Sabang Port to take the 1:00 PM boat looks a bit dicey. So should I just spend a day in Naga? Thanks ...

Is it possible to sail cheaply (not on cruisers or freights unless they are cheap offers) overland / overseas to the Philippines from either Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam? Are there any ferry networks? I've been unable to find any such transport. I'm trying to travel without flying and spending astronomical prices on ships. ...

5 days in The Phillipines?

Posted by MasterBates on 17/2/2013 at 13:13

Hi there, I will be visa running to the Philipines in Mar. for 5 days and have no idea what to do when I arrive. Do any of you denizens recommend any places located within about a 150 km radius of Clark International Airport? My budget is extremely modest, so locations with budget accommodation is preferable; places without hordes of backpackers would also be a bonus. Many thanks! MB ...

Cheapest flights to Phillipines

Posted by mic59 on 30/1/2013 at 06:38

I have booked myself a 77-day holiday in Thailand which I am thinking of breaking with a 3-week stay in the Phillipines. I have had a look at a cheap flights website and found I can get a return from Bangkok to Manila for AU$468. Does anyone know if there would be a cheaper way? This seems pretty good to me but if I could get a better price it would be appreciated. Also, I've never been to the Phillipines. Apart from the local food, always a very important part of any holiday I take, is there an ...

6- wk Itinerary in Philippines

Posted by oshi on 26/10/2012 at 14:48

I am backpacking for 6 months in SE Asia, and am interested in spending a total of 6 weeks in Philippines. I am thinking about spending 3 weeks in Palawan/Coron/El Nido, and the next 3 weeks in Cebu/Bohol/Malapascua. I love outdoors, particularly scuba diving and anything to do with the ocean and water I am not too interested in city/night life. I am looking forward to spending relaxed, low-key time and meeting locals and other travelers. I am wondering if 3 weeks in those areas are sufficien ...

Philippines with children for 1 week

Posted by aaronpryce on 6/1/2013 at 20:48

Hi, We want to take a family trip to the Philippines (via Singapore) in early June (2nd or 3rd) for about a week. The kids will be 6 and 8, and we would like a beach holiday that is a quiet spot with good swimming and snorkelling. An area with some local amenities such as shops and restaurants would be good so that we don't get stuck at the hotel. We would like easy transport in and out (rather than a 6-8 hr journey one way). Budget-wise we are looking at budget-middle of the road. many th ...

Boracay Accommodations

Posted by threeFiddy on 25/2/2012 at 16:50

Hi, I'll be travelling to Boracay in late April and I had a couple of questions... First, can anyone recommend some good places to stay? I'm looking sorta midrange, say ~50-100 USD per night. Second, do you think I'd have trouble showing up and finding a place on the fly instead of booking in advance? I find the websites for many of the resorts to be extremely bad, so it's hard to judge which ones are decent without seeing them in person. Thanks for any assistance you can offer ...

We will travel during the holidays (high season) Dec 23 - Jan 1 and have no hotel reservations. Is it a problem or should we easily find rooms/cottages ? Also we plan to fly out of Coron the same day as our international flight. Is that an issue (delayed planes ?) Should we have to worry ? Or should we plan on flying out of Puerto Princesa instead (and travel south instead of north) ? Thanks for any input... Roland ...

Hello, I am travelling to Talisay for one or two nights in January 2013 and I'm struggling to find any budget back packer accommodation on line. All of the search engines only provide hotels that are out of my budget. Is it simply the that case the lower end accommodation is not on line? Do you think it will be easy to find accommodation upon arrival? Is the accommodation option any better in Tagaytay? Any advice will be very welcome. Many thanks Andy ...
