I know there will be sporadic showers and nice days, but we're looking for calm, clear swimming waters..but i heard most of the west beaches have big waves/undercurrents. Any suggestions? How about phiphi island or krabi? Are the beaches there calmer/clearer for swimming/snorkeling? Thanks!!! any help would be appreciated!! ...

Kanchanaburi Accom Help...

Posted by adamitinerant on 31/3/2009 at 21:45

About 2 years I was in Kanchanaburi for Songkran and had a lot of fun. I crossed the river on a wee ferry and stayed at a place pretty close to the ferry dock. I would like to do something similar, but have a notoriously poor memory, can't find anything about the ferry and where it is and can't remember the name of the guesthouse. Did I dream the whole thing up or is there a little ferry across the river in Kanchanaburi? It's not out of the question that I did all this in another town altogeth ...

Cheap but cheerfulish dorm rooms in Bangkok???

Posted by Finn on 26/3/2009 at 12:15

hey, I was wondering what the best options for dorm rooms in bangkok were? The cheaper the better but not too gross or notorious for theft; I'd pay a little more to avoid these! Due to illness and finance issues i've lost my travel companions so I'd really like somewhere busy where it's easy to meet other backpackers. ...

Any high-end resorts on Had Sai Kaew, Koh Samed?

Posted by cubedweller on 23/3/2009 at 21:00

Anyone have any advice on higher-end resorts on Koh Samed? I've stayed on a more secluded private beach (which was absolutely amazing) but would prefer to stay on the more populated beach (Had Sai Kaew, I believe). I tried the Grand View Resort, and it was nice, but the beds were horrible. I'd prefer a different place if anyone has any suggestions? Thanks as always! ~E ...

Bungalow security

BKK,Nong Khai, Ayuthaya, and Kanchanaburi in October

Posted by LancasterLad on 31/8/2008 at 17:38

Hello. Any help with fine tuning the following would be appreciated. We'd like fairly good accommodation (up to 1,000 bahts a night), and places where a decent nights kip is a reasonable expectation. Arrive BKK on 15 October, and booked in to the Navalai River Resort in Banglamphu, for a couple of nights. Then taking the overnight sleeper train to Nong Khai. We've been to Nong Khai before and stayed at the Mutmee, but we'd like to try somewhere else. Any suggestions? We'll stay in No ...
