Krabi to Pak Bara for Ko Lipe

Posted by simonesa on 6/1/2014 at 00:40

Hey Everyone, I am currently planning a trip to Thailand for August 2014. I know this is pretty far in advance, but I am currently on break from school and thought I would get the bulk of my research done now. Anyways, I am currently stuck and need a little guidance. I currently have some time in the middle of my itinerary to kill. I am undecided between Ko Lipe and Ko Lanta . Unless plans change, I will be traveling from Ko Samui to Krabi , where I will eventually head to Ko Lipe or Ko ...

Krabi flights

Posted by sarah6969pink on 6/1/2014 at 11:58

Hi All, As I have previously posted we are doing some of SE Asia for our honeymoon in April / May. So far we have 4 nights Hong Kong 2/3 night BKK 3/4 nights ??? 7/8 nights Krabi areas (exact beaches/islands tbc) 2 nights BKK As you can see we have a 3/4 night gap that we are overwhelmed with what to fill it with - we both want to visit so many places (Cambodia, Golden Triangle, Myanmar etc). We thought the easiest way to narrow it down may be to see about where it is easiest to get to Krabi ...

Suggested itineraries for first timers?

Posted by jodyj on 4/1/2014 at 09:39

My husband and I are travel writers. We are looking for places to go and stories to write that haven't been done to death, which is difficult since Thailand is such a popular tourist destination. We are planning to stay three weeks in Thailand, with a side trip to Angkor Wat. Arriving sometime in mid to late January. Any thoughts, suggestions or suggested itineraries would be appreciated. Also which guidebook would you suggest getting? LP reviews are mixed at best. We are beyond our backpac ...

Hello, We want to experience the best of the Chinese New Year celebrations in Bangkok this year (31st Jan 2014). We're working in the day of Friday 31st January, but have the evening free, and the rest of the weekend. But I'm struggling to find any schedules, or information on the festivities. Can anyone give me any tips like: * When are the fireworks, where is it best to view them from? * When are the parades & what routes do they take (plus are these just on Friday 31st Jan, or also on S ...

Advice/Inspiration for a newbie!

Posted by GentlemanLlama on 2/1/2014 at 13:31

Hi all, I've decided 2014 is the year I actually bite the bullet and do some proper travelling. My plan is to head over to Thailand for 4-5 weeks after I finish my degree in May (looking like end of May/start of June to July), and I have a couple of things that I certainly want to do, but beyond that I'm stuck. I should point out this is day 1 following my decision to do this trip, so I do have a lot more research to do! My budget is up to £2000. I definitely want to get a Sak Yant tattoo ...

Right now I plan using MRT and the airport train and I have a lot of time. Anyone have a better idea? I will also have to go through Bangkok on Jan 9, but don't expect major difficulties on that date. Opinions? Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ZLS ...

Renewing Visa

I am in an island on the border with Burma and I heard one can take a boat to the border, spend a few hours there and renew the visa. Protests / Where to Stay

Posted by ktothej on 27/12/2013 at 13:33

Hi All, First post here, thanks for the knowledge you all impart, I've been doing a considerable amount of reading. I'm looking for some opinions on the protests and where to stay to best avoid them in Bangkok. My wife and I will be in Bangkok for 3 days 12th - 15th of Jan then again on the 30-31, I currently have accommodations booked on Samsen Rd in Banglamphu area. Based on Richard Barrow's map of the protest areas, it seems a bit close to the zone around the Government House so I'm consi ...

Ao Noi resort, Ko Kut/Kood

Posted by Tennouji on 7/12/2013 at 00:08

Has anyone stayed at this place in one of the fan bungalows as a walk-in customer recently? If so, how much did you pay? I'm not a great fan of booking in advance but as I'll be heading to Kut in the run up to Christmas I thought I might. They don't seem to have their own website and the booking sites have the fan bungalows for 1,400! Seems a bit pricy for a fan room. The beach looks lovely but I'm not really wanting to pay so much to book if is cheaper as a walk-in. However, I've been to Kut ...
