More Reflections on the Can Cau Market - Vietnam, Southeast Asia

“If you are out there shooting, things will happen for you. If you’re not out there, you’ll only hear about it.” – Jay Maisel

Since most of you were fooled with the composition of my last post, I am posting another photo with a “reflection” theme.

The Can Cau Market is Vietnam’s most authentic and isolated open-air market. It is held only on Saturday every week and is located about an hour drive from Bac Ha in Northeastern Vietnam and nine kilometers from the Chinese border.

The market is spread out over various hillsides and features food, clothing and livestock.

This was the very last photograph I made at the Can Cau market. As I got on my motorbike to leave the market and head back to Bac Ha, I saw the reflection of members of the Flower Hmong tribe walking past in my side view mirrors. I had already packed my Canon 5D Mark II DSLR in my backpack, but I had my handy dandy Canon Powershot G9 camera ready to go.

Do you see the livestock in the mirror reflection?

Have a great weekend!

Check back for more of my adventures in Vietnam! One more photo in the comment section.

Happy Travels!
