Hindu ritual

Kathmandu, Nepal (2011). I'll be honest: I don't have a clue what exactly is going on here. It's a hindu ritual for sure, the man in yellow is a priest selling prayers. Since it's Nepal, there might be a touch of buddhism in it as well. I've been watching these kind of fascinating rituals over and over again, for hours. I sort of understand the basic principles of hinduism, but the details are way beyond me.
