Legian is the big brother of Kuta: more mature, less rowdy, slightly more cultured. It shares much in common with Kuta as a typical beach resort town with an abundance of accommodation options, plenty of good cheap eating and a continuation of the relentless shopping opportunities.

Kuta seemingly blends into Legian without even a hint of separation, while the official boundary of Legian is Jalan Benesari in the south and Jalan Double Six in the north, we're altering that slightly and starting Legian at Melasti in the south as that is a more natural break when you're on the ground. The main areas of activity occurs in the centre of Legian within the cluster formed by Jalan Melasti, Jalan Sahadewa, Jalan Padma and Jalan Padma Utara. In this area you'll find an abundance of shopping, restaurants and bars.
