“Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on my Head” at the Can Cau Market, Vietnam

Sorry I have been tardy in getting back to your photostreams of late. I have been spending more time behind the camera than behind my computer.

I have been busy photographing around town because late fall and winter are the best times to photograph sunrises and sunsets in San Diego due to the absence of the marine layer.

If you are getting tired of my Southeast Asia series you can view what I have been photographing lately over at my Facebook Page

Facebook severely compresses my photographs and actually Google + does a better job with photo resolution.

The Can Cau Market is Vietnam’s most authentic and isolated open-air market. It is held only on Saturday every week and is located about an hour drive from Bac Ha in Northeastern Vietnam and nine kilometers from the Chinese border.

From a photographer’s point of view the beauty of the market is the riot of colors from the clothing of the various ethnic hill tribe minorities, the most colorful being the Flower Hmong tribe.

For some reason when I photographed this woman from the Flower Hmong tribe standing alone on a rock with her umbrella the lyrics of “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on my Head” came to mind.

Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Crying's not for me
Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothing's worrying me

I’ll be catching up with your photostreams later today. Have a great weekend!

Check back for more of my adventures in Vietnam! One more photo in the comment section.

Happy Travels!
