Trekking to the Tavan Village in Sapa, Vietnam

I wanted to thank all my contacts for your comments, faves and notes for my last couple of posts. I really want to thank all of you guys who take the time to read my meandering travelogues. I really do appreciate that.

I’ll keep this post short. I promise!

Located in Northwest Vietnam, Sapa was once a hill station established during the French colonial period in 1922. It now serves as Vietnam’s premier trekking hub.

If you are looking for a quiet trekking retreat to commune with nature you are not going to find it in Sapa. You will hike through some beautiful rice terraces, but be aware you will be accompanied by members of the Dzao, Red H’mong or Black H’mong ethnic hill tribe.

Here is a view of my Sapa trek on my way to a homestay at the Ta Van village.

This buffalo was too busy eating to enjoy the scenery.

I hope you enjoy the scenery. Have a great Thursday!

Check back for more of my adventures in Vietnam!

Happy Travels!
