Ao Phai

There are a few restaurants just off Ao Phai beach and evenings are generally quiet except for the occasional beach party, which will keep light sleepers up all night. As with most of the beaches on Ko Samet, most of the guesthouses and resorts have spots to eat and drink, but Ao Phai has one worthy of particular mention. Though the Silver Sands Resort is a little stuffy, their bar is very happening, with lots of great drinks specials -- especially the ever popular bucket. Silver Sands gets going around midnight with popular music, friendly bartenders, backpackers and students. They have a small dance floor, tables and mats on the beach, plus a small hamburger stand that serves burgers, grilled meatballs, noodles and assorted other snacks till 03:00.
