A few restaurants are just off Ao Phai beach, but evenings are generally quiet except for the occasional beach party, which will keep light sleepers awake. As with most of the beaches on Ko Samet, guesthouses and resorts generally have spots to eat and drink, but Ao Phai has one worthy of particular mention. Though the Silver Sands Resort is a little stuffy, their bar is very happening, with lots of great drinks specials - especially the ever popular bucket. Gay-friendly Silver Sands gets going around midnight with popular music, friendly bartenders, backpackers, and students. They have a small dance floor, tables and mats on the beach, plus a hamburger stand that serves burgers, grilled meatballs, noodles and assorted other snacks till 03:00.Photo gallery
