Green House
Backpacker hangout with a long drink list and OK e
What we say:
The Green House is one of Sen Monorom's few backpacker hang-out spots, perhaps explained by the tourist offices that operate off the premises. There's a very simple food menu – the Khmer-style green curry was perfectly fine, as were the fried noodles – and a slightly more complicated drink menu, featuring a range of surprisingly complex cocktails. Mood-lit and constructed largely out of bamboo, with an alt-and-classic-rock playlist, Green House is a good place to sit and hang out in the evening in exceptionally sleepy Sen Monorom. Internet terminals are available if you're lacking a laptop, and there's also wifi. Green House provides a convenient spot for making arrangements for next-day activities – those interested in visiting the Elephant Valley sanctuary can book spots a day ahead through the on-site agent. Green House can also set up other trekking activities, including motorbike and mountain bike tours, overnight elephant treks, and jungle hikes.
