Cafe Laurent
Upscale Koh Kong dining
What we say:
Built directly on the water, Cafe Laurent is an ideal place to while away a few hours or watch the sunset.
It's pretty fancy by Koh Kong standards, and local expats claim that it's overpriced, but with mains averaging $5 to $7, it's not bad value. They've an extensive Western menu with many types of pizzas and pastas that are generally agreed to be bland, as is the cheesy soft rock being piped over the loudspeakers.
The Asian menu, however, is quite good and features Thai, Chinese and Khmer dishes. They also have an snazzy indoor bar, but the seating for dining is outdoors, so do wear your mosquito repellent.
