What we say:
Popular with expats, locals and visitors alike, Mr Grill has a massive menu of grills and dishes, including fish, meat and veg selections that you can grill yourself at the table, as well as an a la carte menu of Cambodian, and some Western, dishes.
The open-air restaurant on Wat Bo Road is something of an institution in Siem Reap, and the busy atmosphere is infectiously dynamic, especially if you order one of the giant beer towers.
Offerings include salads and stir-fries using everything from some really excellent beef, to seafood, poultry, pork and other more esoteric options. Always busy, this place is definitely worth checking out. The beers are cheap, and the service pretty good considering how crowded they usually are.
If you prefer something that doesn’t sizzle in front of you, the Khmer beef steak with fries is extremely good, and maybe one of the best in town.
If you take nothing else away with you from Cambodia except the knowledge of how sublime grilled beef dipped in fresh pepper and lime juice is, you will still be infinitely the richer. This is one of the great places to try it.
