Il Forno went from non-existence to pre-eminence in about 24 hours flat. Created by a young Italian family, the rich aroma of authenticity wafts from every dish.
Their pizzas are crisp and thin based, with real tomato sauce and generous toppings. Many of the pastas are house-made, and their pesto is divine, while their other sauces receive rich praise too. If you're not so hungry at lunchtime, they also do a small selection of Italian style sandwiches.
They are busy almost every night, creating a heady, chatty atmosphere; almost like Italy itself.
