La Boulangerie

La Boulangerie has usurped the Blue Pumpkin as the best bakery in town in the opinion of many.

This very sweet, locally owned and run cafe serves up some excellent value breakfasts, great coffee, and really good value lunches, including salads, sandwiches and quiches. Immensely popular with the French expat community, and anyone else with the good sense to make it a regular spot. They've recently expanded their menu, and their venue, and are now open for dinners too. La Boulangerie isn't fancy, and the simple decor is matched by an unpretentious menu that simply tries to do things really well.

The breakfasts are the best value in town (for example, $4 for scrambled eggs, baguette, juice, yoghurt, fruit and tea or coffee). You can also create your own salad or sandwiches, or choose from the fantastically priced selection. Their home-made bread and baguettes are possibly the best in town.
