JPs Warungclub
We like. A lot.
What we say:
The refurbished JPs is now a slick affair, with more open space, walls adorned with evocative black and white Bali images and a raised stage for their excellent live music performances.
A few swinging lounge chairs make for comfortable stage-side sitting, though the rest of the restaurant is decent as well, for dining or a tipple while watching the show. The long bar is out the back, and stretches through to an outdoor area next to new bar, Maria Magdalena, which is all part of the new complex also incorporating Ryoshi. JP's menu is wide-ranging, covering breakfast through to dinner. The Sexy Time Breakfast of blinis with caviar, dark chocolate, strawberries and champagne for 540,000++ rupiah is a rather interesting splurge. Pub classics and Indonesian standards are on offer, but often with interesting twists — the spare ribs for instance are done in ginger beer and chilli apple tzatziki.
