Over-priced
What we say: 
Set in a lovely old colonial building along bustling Jalan Pemuda, Toko Oen has a great reputation around town due to its old-world charm and delicious food.
That's the good news. The not so good news is that the prices are exorbitant when compared to almost anything else in town – a nasi goreng will set you back more than 30,000 rupiah and Western dishes are around the 70,000 rupiah mark.
The dessert menu, however, is a winner featuring a delicious selection of ice cream and cakes. Come here to lap up the fantastic colonial feel as well as partake in one of the fine desserts and the price issues will be forgetten.
Colonial building, air-con, ice cream – it’s not a bad combo. It’s just a bit overpriced.
