What we say: 
Solo has a huge range of street food, with many local specialities such as nasi liwet (shredded chicken with coconut rice), rawon (spicy beef soup served with rice), serabi (small sweet pancakes) and mie ayam (noodles with chicken in broth). Prices on the street are very cheap and the atmosphere is friendly and convivial. One great spot to enjoy Solonese street food is along the far eastern end of Jalan Brigjen Slamet Riyadi, where many different stalls are open for lunch and dinner. Known as the Galabo, it especially bustles during the evenings and on weekends when around 80 stalls open and the area is closed to traffic, but it's open for breakfast and lunch too. Expect to pay 6,000- 10,000 rupiah for a meal.
