Best mall in town
What we say:
This place is the most happening mall in town as evidenced by the heavy traffic (especially on weekends) heading up the hill to the village of Sukajadi where PVJ (pay-vay-jay), as it's known locally, is located.
The main attraction of this mall is the semi-outdoor cafe/restaurant strip along the outer part of the mall building. During weekends, most of the cafes stay open until midnight even though the mall itself is closed at 22:00. Those into the round-ball variety of football can head to the MU Cafe for a live match on the big screen with a glass of beer and cigarette in hand.
For those wanting to just hang out and relax, Black Canyon Cafe and Starbucks are available although one should expect Western prices. In fact, none of the eating establishments at PVJ are especially cheap, but the quality is good. The latest Hollywood blockbusters with Indonesian subtitles can be viewed here in the modern cinema for a cheap 25,000 rupiah.
Finally, the most famous spot for nightlife in Bandung, Mansion, is located on the downhill side of the mall for which the main attraction is the semi-outdoor rooftop lounge and attached night club. To reach PVJ from the train station, take the St Hall–Lembang angkot for 3,000 rupiah and ask the driver to stop outside the mall.
