Paskal Food Market
Outdoor food court near the train station
What we say:
Deep inside Paskal Hypersquare about a five-10 minute walk from Jalan Pasirkaliki is the Paskal Food Market.
It's an open-air food court that claims to serve 1,100 different cuisines. We counted about 100, but this selection is more than enough to allow a fussy eater to find something to their liking -- for the gastronome, it could well break them.
The process for ordering is overly-complex, but not too much of a hassle. Order from one of the many food counters, take your docket to the nearby cashier, receive another docket, take that to your original food counter and receive a number, take that number and remaining dockets to a table of your choice in the sun or under shelter and wait for your food to be delivered.
Most food served here is a step above that of a warung and also allows you to sample a smattering of foods from other Asian countries. One of the better options within walking distance of the train station.
