Istanbul Restaurant

Only Turkish restaurant in Laos

What we say: 3.5 stars

It seems like all the riverfront restaurants have added Middle Eastern food to their menus, but the new Istanbul Restaurant offers traditional Turkish dishes.

Here, the schwarmas and falafels are freshly prepared and the hand-made pita bread is thick and chewy. The Turkish pizzas offer some bold new flavours and vegetarians will love the eggplant topped version.

Be warned that while the food is flavourful, it's on the oily side. Wash it down with some ayran, a Turkish salt lassi which helps refresh and digest. The servers are friendly and will help explain the menu if needed. Check the whiteboard for the daily special
