The Lao-wide chain

Photo of Nazim

What we say: 3.5 stars

Part of a chain with locations in every Lao town big enough to have tourists, Nazim's is a cheap and cheerful Indian restaurant with two Vientiane locations.

The menu offers more than 150 items including the usual favourites like chicken tikka masala, biriyani rice and naan bread, plus some South Indian specialties like the masala thosai (a lentil crepe filled with curried vegetables). Vegetarians will have no problem finding something to eat. Vegetarian dishes run at 15,000-20,000 kip while meat dishes cost less than 40,000 kip.

Despite the extensive menu items, the dishes mostly have the same generic curry flavour, so this isn't Indian cooking at its finest, but it also means it's hard to go wrong with whatever you order. Nazim's is popular and the service is attentive even when it's a full house.
