Lafite
One of KL's most renowned eateries
What we say:
Lafite has been one of KL's most renowned eateries for years, but tends to get a fresh direction with every new head chef.
The latest incarnation is European, rather than classic French, although dishes like poached lobster with foie gras, cherry tomato confit and white truffle foam, would not look out of place in France. Set menus, especially at lunch, make Lafite a more affordable treat, and are well worth taking advantage of. As with all upmarket dining in KL, it's the alcohol prices which turns an affordable treat, into a complete budget-buster.
Within the Shangri-La Hotel on Jalan Sultan Ismail, the closest public transport is Bukit Nanas monorail a five to ten minute walk away.
